Robert Trevino conductor
Bruckner Symphony No 4 in E flat
We are delighted to welcome one of America’s most exciting young conductors, Robert Trevino, for his debut performance with the Academy Symphony Orchestra. Currently Music Director of the Basque National Orchestra, recent engagements in the UK include the London Philharmonic Orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. Written in 1874 and revised several times up until 1888, Bruckner’s Fourth Symphony received its premiere in 1881 to great critical acclaim. Nicknamed the ‘Romantic’ Symphony by Bruckner himself, the work was dedicated to Prince Konstantin of Hohenlohe- Schillingsfürst and evokes the world of Beethoven’s ‘Eroica’ Symphony.
