Jane Glover, leading conductor and scholar and Music Director of Chicago’s Music of the Baroque, directs her first ‘Bach the European’ performance, beginning with a sacred cantata from 1724, Wo soll ich fliehen hin. Vivaldi’s Gloria was written in around 1715 at the Ospedale della Pieta` for orphaned and illegitimate daughters of Venetian noblemen. Best known for its joyful opening chorus, the celebratory trumpet and oboe octave figures introduce the boundless energy that permeates the work.

Performed on historical instruments.
