This is a chance for prospective students and anyone interested in the art of conducting to come and see how the Academy trains postgraduate students to meet the many and varied challenges of a conducting career.

Following an introduction by Head of Conducting Sian Edwards, Academy conducting students demonstrate how they prepare scores and develop their skills. The music featured will include Mozart’s Symphony No 41, Beethoven‘s Symphonies Nos 2 and 7, and Varèse’s Octandre. There will also be an opportunity for participants to conduct the first movement of the Mozart piece at the end of the morning session; please email the address above if you want to take part.
