Haydn and Bartók Chamber Music Series

Drawings of Haydn & Bartok

Levon Chilingirian curates six concerts presenting Bartók’s violin duos, performed by Academy professors and their students, alongside some of Haydn’s lesser-known string quartets. These programmes are complemented by three Friday Series concerts: Clio Gould directs the Sainsbury Royal Academy Soloists; Head of Woodwind Keith Bragg conducts the Academy Symphonic Wind in a new arrangement of Haydn’s ‘Drumroll’ Symphony by Professor Timothy Jones alongside free arrangements of Bartók’s solo piano pieces by bassoon professor Robin O’Neill; and the closing event of the series comprises student performances of works for two pianos and percussion.
