Pegasus Opera Company presents the UK Premier of two one-act operas by Philip Hagemann based on Bernard Shaw's The Music Cure and Oscar Wilde's The Nightingale and the Rose.

The Music Cure It is 1913 and Lord Reginald is being investigated by Parliament for inside trading. Needless to say, he is distressed. His beloved mother hires a famous and dynamic female concert pianist to cheer him up. This is a tale of satirical wit, love and desire, enhanced by the brilliance of Hagemann’s music.

The Nightingale and the Rose A student has fallen in love with a young maiden who demands he shows his feelings by giving her a red rose. Unable to find one, a nightingale offers to make a red rose for him. Wilde’s bittersweet tale is adopted by New York based Composer and conductor, Philip Hagemann.
