A chance for prospective students and anyone interested in the art of conducting to come and see how the Academy trains postgraduate students to meet the many and varied challenges of a conducting career.

Following an introduction by Head of Conducting Sian Edwards, Academy conducting students demonstrate how they prepare scores and develop their skills. The music featured will include Beethoven’s Symphony No 3, ‘Eroica’, and Stravinsky’s Pulcinella Suite.

There will be an opportunity to conduct the first or second movement of the Beethoven piece at the end of the morning session; email the address above if you want to take part. Slots are limited and are on a first-come, first-served basis.
